Exciting News in Web-based Training!
The Criminal Justice Institute of Georgia (CJIG) is a web-based training and hybrid-based
training service
for the men and women of Georgia's public safety fields. By providing convenient
and accessible training verified through proctors and examination CJIG is saving
departments throughout the state precious transportation dollars. CJIG also
allows for cross-training of personnel such that street mandate personnel can
train in mental health subjects, mental health professionals can learn to
appreciate safety needs of officers, and each branch of public safety learns more
about each other.
Advanced Training for Georgia Security Personnel
National security directives call for upgraded training of state-certified
security personnel to support public safety personnel in the event of state or
national emergencies. Also, many security personnel hope to obtain employment as
public safety personnel. CJIG is designed to facilitate increasing applicant
flow and knowledge-based skill set development for those seeking public safety
positions.
Controlled Training Access
Training through CJIG is available to a wide, but controlled, audience. Some
courses are restricted from non-POST certified personnel. All courses may be
taught in a traditional classroom setting following POST requirements for
mandated training. Control is achieved through an annual registration process
verified through employers.
